Hiii~~~~
just a short post before exams yea, all the best for exams and all, do your best in it and don't give up studying(brainwash yourself, I LOVE STUDYING XD). yups i really believe all of you can do it, so go out there and make your grades :D
hahaha i agree that it has been a long time since anyone blogged at this blog, so i shall revive it :D Anyways, it doesn't mean that only when we have some event then we have to post on this blog what, we can do it anytime! ( gosh suddenly so high )
By the way, we had an EXCO meeting today and just for you to know, we are going to have a SC MEETING( stand up and cheer people ) and its after the exams :D so no worries. SEC 4s! we are going to have a meeting too! haha 11 May for the sec4s and 8 May for Council Meeting if i remembered correctly.
Oh well, come to think of it, my time in the council is almost up ( i know you are going to stand up and cheer coz i will be gone XD but pls bear with me a little longer :P ). Like it or not, i've really been through a lot, learnt a lot, and grown up more too. Throughout this time, i learnt that we don't have to be recognised for what we do because it would be meaningless isn't it? I can boldly admit that sometimes, even us excos have moments of "feeling like giving up", including me. In fact, i do succumb to some negative things that people do say.
Well people, i am not kidding but everyone has a moment like that, and i am not exception. But whatmakes us leaders different from the others is that we don't care about what others think of us. We just do what we believe that is right and make it our lifestyle.
Sometimes i can relate to the feeling you have of being in council, like " what am i doing here?", "it is just stagnant here". I believe everyone including the seniors have this kind of thoughts too.
But guys, i just want you all to know one thing: The answer to remove stagnancy is passion. Just be driven by what you come to the council for and work towards it without giving up. Yes it is tough, but as long as you have determination, you can make it. Yes we lose our passion sometimes because of distractions, but if we get on to it, the passion will return. It doesn't have to be seen by others. Just know within you that you are doing something for your school, that is enough. DON"T SEEK FOR RECOGNITION. you will just feel more empty. Don't let anything other people say affect you too. Humans err and mistakes are your teachers. Don't lose your passion because of what others think of you yeah? :D
hey guys! guess what! its out big day tomorrow! yep, i'm here to give encouragements!
first of all, from some seniors..
ROCHELLE!: HELLOOO! i will not be able to go down to watch the investiture ): but still put in your best effort and make it the best that you can. =D miss the SLC!! CHAN HONG!: Send my well wishes to the council. All e best, relax, enjoy and put up a awesome show because i believe all of you guys can do it! Jiayous! Hahas. [:
JOLENE!: Hey hey... All the best for today's investiture... I'm sorry once again i cant make it... Enjoy and Relax:)
okay, here we go,
2007, 2nd April it was the best day of my life as i receive a certificate, A Certificate of Attainment Deyi Secondary School, Student Leaders Council hereby appoint, Darylene Teh as a Student Leader as of Year 2007 ohmygosh. i did it. my first investiture
2008, 30th July deyi student leaders council is 2 year old! it's the day as i grew to be responsible with myself i'm no longer the newbie, but a senior that ought to guide the "new born" leaders as well as to be ready to take over the council together with my fellow peers(current sec4s), because the seniors will soon step down.. it's tough to adapt the new responsibilities, but i know, i am not alone.
2009, 06 April(tomorrow) my last investiture in deyi, probably the last one in my life once again reminds me that, i've only got a few months left so guys, last us make this investiture a successful, sugar, spice, and everything nice! we can do this, just believe in yourself.
for the sec2s, welcome to the family, i mean officially, dont ever be demoralized by any of your peers with nasty comments be strong and be proud of yourself for coming so far it's your first investiture, make the best out of it
for the sec3s, you guys are gonna step up soon, i do hope that you guys will understand that being a leader, doesnt only mean that you lead and serve, be discipline and fulfilling expectations, it meant being responsible, responsible to the school, to the council and to yourself, your own actions. well, thats my point view. this investiture marks the new chapter of your leadership journey, be assure of yourself
for both sec3s and sec2s, find your path of purpose, find the one thing that made you be attracted to leadership in time, people might ask or maybe you'll wonder why do you want to be a leader, what keeps you hanging on? mine is passion, it never leaves me i just enjoy this journey too much, and as i look back, all the memories is like, WOW once again, believe in yourself, and i believe in you all
as for the sec 4s, this is our last investiture, It’s out last chance to share the stage, It’s our last chance for us to shine, before we go our separate ways. We should spend these final days together. lets make the best out of it, and leave no regrets! whoohoo!
As the actual date of the investiture draw nearer by seconds, minutes, hours and days, I would really like to take some time to appreciate all that you guys have done in the council board and also, to congratulate the about-to-be-invested-peeps.
I don't know about you, but I can still vaguely remember why I actually wanted to join the board in the past.
I really liked the council tie and those senior councillors who walk pass me always give me the 'i-am-cool' impression. I was really fascinated by the thought of becoming one them some day. But of course, when I've was able to join in, it wasn't all about being cool and all.
I often find myself caught up with thoughts like ohmygosh* she complained about my socks length and skirt length again.
Believe it or not, I used to be as notorious. But as i began to get more accustomed to the rules and attend more meetings and activities regarding council, it just felt like I am part of it and everything. It felt like I was a part of a family.
I don't know about teachers, I don't know about how much to do or not to do the council, but I know that I am serving my school and my schoolmates.
Don't be discouraged by what you've given, when you've given with what you do not expect. Don't be disappointed when you're not credited, you do not need credits. Let your role be one that's out of will and not out of greed.
Let us not care how much we are able to do but let us focus on what we are willing to do. The council do not need capable people, we need willing people.
May your journey in this 4-5 years of school life be fruitful.
Don't be driven by positions, people, attention or respect. Be driven by character.
Heys newly invested leaders, congratulations. I certainly see much potential in you guys. :)
Don't let how much you can do for the board be restricted by how new you're in the board. Be bold, just do it.
Every single one of you have the capabilities to be a leader. All you have to do is to unleash it all. By then, potentials will turn into strengths, habits to character.
